Fermenter Kit for Wide Mouth Mason Jars

The benefits of lacto-fermented foods are finally becoming known to all. So why not make these incredible, gut-friendly foods yourself? With this kit, you can turn your kitchen into a fermentation laboratory! Using your wide-mouth mason jars, you'll be able to make small or large batches (depending on the size of your jars) of pickles, sauerkraut, kimchi and more. Made from 304 (18-8) stainless steel and FDA-approved silicone components, this kit won't rust or leach anything into your batch. Fermenter Kit includes: Wide-Mouth Stainless Steel Jar Band, Wide-Mouth Stainless Steel Lid with Silicone Gasket and Silicone Grommet, 3-Piece Airlock, and a Cotton Cloth for Kombucha.

  • Stainless Steel and silicone components ensure a sterile environment for your ferments
  • 3-Piece Airlock allows gasses to escape without letting air back into your jar
  • No BPA, phthalates, or chemical leach
  • Fits any Wide-Mouth canning jar (not included)
  • FDA approved silicone ensures a tight seal
  • Cotton cloth for making Kombucha

    Longevity is an issue

Posted by Amy R. on Jun 30th 2019

Purchased two of the kits back in November 2016. Don't ferment frequently so may have used them probably 10-15 times since then. Unfortunately the stainless steel discs have warped with use which was not expected but it doesn't affect functional. The silicone grommet has broken off on one of them and is basically not functional anymore. The plastic water air lock seems to still work but the material appears as if it will fall apart soon as well. Expected more longevity from the product given the brand and price point.

    The recipe/tips Manuel does not

Posted by Betsy T. on Feb 19th 2018

The recipe/tips Manuel does not include all of the information you need to get going which is frustrating because there is a lot of different information online and i ruined my first batch of sauerkraut because the information left out important pieces. not excited about trying it again. the equipment seems good though. just wouldn't want to give this to a person as a gift if they didn't know much about fermentation to begin with.

Really not working as I had hoped

Posted by Chrissy Bravo-Cullen on Feb 2nd 2018

I was excited to get my fermenting kit, but the lids have not worked as I had hoped. The white gasket is a pain to clean and makes the lid hard to open and close. The black gasket on one of my jars split apart the second time I used it. I'm going to try using just the ring and lid, minus both gaskets and airlock, to ferment, covering the top of the jar with plastic wrap and a rubber band. But I'm done with airlock lids. These were my second try. The white plastic lidded ones didn't work well either.

So far I've done sauerkraut and dill pickles but I hope to get more adventurous this fall when I harvest my veggie garden :)
